North Dakota State University Department of Visual Arts and Printmaking Education & Research Studio (PEARS), along with co-hosts Concordia College, Minnesota State University Moorhead, and the Plains Art Museum invite you to join us for a full program that is sure to leave an impression on you. If you would like to promote this event in your area please click here for a pdf of the conference schedule and the exhibitions. The MAPC (Mid America Print Council) 2008 conference: “Convergence. Impressions of space we inhabit”, will explore how artists, educators, and creative people in general are influenced and marked by the spaces they inhabit. We will examine how the current world of printmaking is affected by vast quantities of available and developing methods and approaches, methods that seem connected to one another (historically, in terms of process, or by physical characteristics) while others seem quite unique. The theme also questions limits and how they are determined or superseded, and how artists who use prints/printmaking are leaping into open space, or taking the risk to enter vast expanses. North Dakota and Minnesota welcome MAPC members to this informative and enjoyable event and we trust your participation in the conference will make a lasting impression on you for years to come. Please email Tammy.Erdmann@ndsu.edu or call 701.231.8818 with questions or comments. The public is invited to take advantage of this rare opportunity and view as many of the exhibitions as possible. For an updated list please click on Exhibitions in the main menu.
MID AMERICA PRINT COUNCIL 2008 JURIED EXHIBITION Agoraphobia, in reference to the wide-open spaces of the Prairie, is the theme for the 2008 exhibit.
